Abstract

The e arrival of the popular jury trial system in the Argentine Republic and especially in the province of Buenos Aires,
among others, forces us to retrace a path of years linked to inquisitive models that had been mitigated. From this perspective, the advancement of an adversarial model and the understanding of the true dimension of the jury's verdict leads us to new institutes and new problems such as inconsistent verdicts. This work addresses, based on the precedent of the Provincial Supreme Court, an approach to its modalities, scope and the different approaches in the common law tradition when reviewing the challenges covered by these grounds.
