Abstract
The presentation addresses the legal concept of the Child’s Attorney created by the law 14.568, passed by the Congress
of the Province of Buenos Aires, which aim is to protect children´s rights by providing them with legal counsel, affirming the possibility of this legal intervention also in criminal proceedings. This construction can be based on International Human Rights Law and in particular, the right of children to be heard and to participate in the judicial proceedings in which they take part as victims, together with the right to due process. Other complementary national and provincial laws are also addressed. Within this framework, an exegesis of Law 14.568 and of the legal provisions that regulate the actions of the Child’s Attorney is carried out in all stages of the criminal process to allow and ensure the effective exercise of their rights.
