Abstract
The objective of this work is to inquire about the origins and evolution of the Highest Court of Justice of the province of Buenos Aires. In this way, we must go to the first Hearing in the Río de la Plata, in the middle of the 18th century, to find the most distant antecedent in time of the current Supreme Court. Then, already in the national period, the Court will become the Chamber of Appeals, later the Superior Court of Justice to be renamed the Supreme Court of Justice from the provincial Constitution of 1873. For its part, the constitutional reform of 1889 incorporated the figure of the Attorney General, while the amendment to the 1994 provincial Charter will do the same with the Deputy Attorney General. We must warn
readers that in this work we have exclusively adjusted to carry out a historical journey on the origin and evolution of the composition of the Highest Court of the province of Buenos Aires without going into the analysis of its specific powers and functions.
